Image File Archiving

Image File Archiving.

Archiving: long term backup storage can be done using Zip or Jazz disks. Zip and Jazz disks can preserve data files for about 5 years. Optical storage such as MO (Magneto Optical) drives and CD-ROMS are considered more reliable for long term storage. Floppy disks are considered reliable for only two years.

• You are responsible for archiving your data. Backups are not made of image data on the confocal system.
• Image files older than 6 months will be automatically deleted from the D: (\\Leica_tcs) and M: (\\Confocal) drives. 
• Image files on the C: drive are subject to immediate deletion.
• If storage space becomes scarce, requests will be made to immediately remove old data.
