Overview:

Some programs (e.g. VidEdit.exe, for Windows) do not handle tiff image files and Slicer.exe has a bug which prevents it from opening tiff images.  Such programs can handle bitmap images along with the command line bm_functions, which were created specifically for handling bitmaps files and bitmap file series.  Tiff files can be converted into bitmap image files in bulk using the PC command line prompt program tiffsplit4.exe (use your confocal user name and password). (see tiffsplit4.html for specific help and more operations)

The Details:

Convert individual tiff files into bitmap files using tiffsplit4.exe

• Open a DOS box
• Change to the drive and directory which contain the image files
• Execute:  tiffsplit4  filename.tif  -b
• Bitmap files will be created from the tiff files and placed in the same directory.
